Updated Race Face SIXC handlebar & Atlas wheels debut
While the trend in the enduro scene right now is towards narrower bars, many riders are still clamoring for wider bars. To answer the call, Race Face has extended the venerable SIXC handlebar out to 820mm. Previously available in an 800mm width, these new bars are claimed to retain the same ride feel and overall durability.
The new bars are only available in a 35mm bar clamp. They ship with either a 20mm or 35mm rise, with 8 degrees of back sweep and 5 degrees of up sweep. They 20mm version will tip the scales at around 235g, an increase of 25g over the previous narrower version.
You can pick yours up in a half dozen colors. Price is $175.
Atlas Wheels
In addition to new handlebars, Race Face has some new downhill wheels. Developed in conjunction with Devinci Global Racing, the new Atlas hoops are rated for park laps and freeride hucks.
The wheels use the Vault hubs, which Race Face developed in house and are found throughout their premium lineup. The hubs feature oversized flanges for improved bracing, house large bearings, and deliver 120 points of engagement ( 3 degrees) via 6 double tooth pawls.
The 28-hole alloy rims have a 30mm internal width and are laced 3x with straight pull spokes. Each wheelset comes with five extra spokes.
