Trailcraft Cycles unveils new models for wee ones
The bigger wheels and longer travel on the Big Mesa model are perfect for groms who love to shred.
Faced with a lack of quality options for kid-sized bikes that sport high quality components, Trailcraft Cycles set out to build the type of bike that we’d all want to ride if we could turn back the life clock and return to our youth.

Ginger Rosenbauer runs Trailcraft Cycles with a little help from Brett Rosenbauer (formerly of Niner Bikes) and their two wonderful kids.
Initially, they found success with their 24” Pineridge 24 hardtail, which sports short chainstays, unique frame geometry, and light weight. It was an instant hit with young riders and parents who sympathize with a 50-pound child trying to climb on a 32-pound bike.
The Maxwell 24 has 100mm of travel front and rear. It’s geared toward aggressive young riders with 390mm chainstays and a low weight of 24 pounds with pedals.
Having been through a similar situation and spending countless hours researching how to make our “kid’s bike” fit our son better and drop weight, I was instantly drawn to the Trailcraft booth at Sea Otter to see what they had to offer. Upon arrival, I was immediately drawn to brightly colored bikes that sported real suspension components that use air shock technology instead of non-adjustable coil springs. As adult riders we understand how important setting sag and travel is on our forks, so why buy something that has near zero adjustment for your child?

Their soon-to-be-released Maxwell line of full suspension 24”, 26” and 26+ bikes brings full squish goodness to kids. Trailcraft placed an emphasis on proper fit and balanced geometry to keep kids as safe as possible without ruining the playful aspects of their bikes.
The Maxwell 26 full suspension bike has 120mm of travel, boost spacing, and 420mm chainstays. The Maxwell 26 is also available in 26 plus.
Thoughtful design elements include a 68-degree head angle, short chainstays, air shocks front and rear, 1x drivetrain with 11×44 cassette, and kid-sized 140mm-152mm crank arms and internally routed dropper post capability. Weight ranges from 24-27 pounds depending on size and spec. Prices start at $2199
