Whether it’s a narrow XC tire or a traction enhancing plus-sized model, most riders have a preferred tire size. Now Stan’s NoTubes has wheels to cover all those various options. They’ve also launched their new Podium SRD, the first wheelset in the Stan’s Racing Development program. Here are all the key details straight from the Interbike trade show in Las Vegas.

Stan’s has added three new wheelsets to its aluminum MK3 product line. The Sentry MK3, Baron MK3, and Major MK3 offer wider rim shapes designed for 2.5-3.5 tires. Based on Stan’s WideRight sizing concept that matches rim width to tire width for optimal speed and traction, the wider MK3 rims bring Stan’s patented Bead Socket tubeless technology to plus tires.
Like the Crest MK3, Arch MK3 and Flow MK3 models introduced last year, the new designs will be constructed of 6069 series aluminum and will be available as both rims only and complete wheelsets. With the addition of these three models, Stan’s MK3 series joins the more affordable S1 series in offering six different rim widths, ensuring the right rim width for most tire sizes. All MK3 wheelsets include Sapim Force spokes, Sapim Secure Lock nipples and CNC machined Stan’s Neo hubs with updated Durasync freehubs. Three stainless steel bearings in the Durasync freehub are spaced wide for improved stability and longer life.
The 32mm internal width of the Sentry MK3 is intended to bridge the gap between wide trail and plus tires, providing more stability for 2.5-3.0 tires without adding unnecessary weight or distorting tire shape. The Baron MK3’s 35mm internal width is best for most plus tires, making it versatile enough for everyday trail riding and fully loaded bikepacking adventures. Cornering stability and traction are the Baron’s trademarks. The Major MK3’s 38mm internal width brings Stan’s patented tubeless technology to the largest plus tires.
Stan’s NoTubes has also introduced its lightest and most advanced carbon racing wheelset, the Podium SRD. As the first wheelset to be released as part of the Stan’s Racing Development line of products, the Podium SRD builds on the racing heritage of Stan’s Podium and Valor wheelsets. The new rim shape of the Podium SRDs has a 23mm internal width and lower profile sidewalls that when combined with a new carbon layup process, creates a sub-1300g 29er wheelset with outstanding acceleration and impact absorbing ability. The rim shape of the Podium SRD represents further development of Stan’s radial impact absorbing carbon technology. Although the 300g Podium SRD rim is the lightest carbon rim that Stan’s has made, it’s every bit as strong as Stan’s Valor and 15% stiffer laterally, thanks in part to the new impact absorbing technology. The new rim shape and lay up is able to deflect radially 11% more than the Valor, which translates to fewer pinch flats, added durability, and lower rolling resistance. Podium SRD wheelsets are laced with Sapim’s Laser spokes and Sapim Secure Lock alloy nipples. They include Stan’s Neo Ultimate hubs with updated Speedsync freehub. Three bearings spaced for improved durability and six pawls engaging in sets of three improve hub durability and speed engagement.
All the new wheels include the option of custom color decals to match your bike, and Stan’s has increased its carbon warranty to 5 years and added lifetime crash replacement.

The Podium SRD is light. Stan’s patented BST rim shape has been taken even further by decreasing sidewall height and updating our carbon layup process to shave weight where it matters most. The Major MK3’s 38mm internal width offers maximum stability for even the largest Plus tires. Combined with Stan’s patented BST low-profile sidewalls, nothing finds traction and maintains control like the Major MK3. Based on our WideRight system for matching rims and tires, the Major MK3 is optimized for 3.00-3.30” tires. Lighter by design and faster rolling Stan’s BST rims let you tire expand to its true shape and full volume, allowing you to run lower pressure, reducing rolling resistance, and providing unheard of levels of traction and control. The Major MK3’s durable and lightweight 6069 alloy construction is matched by our CNC machined Neo hub. With an upgraded freehub bearing placement and axle for strength and the quick engagement of our 6-pawl design, the Neo ensures your Major MK3 will roll faster longer. The 35mm internal width of the Baron MK3 brings Stan’s unmatched traction and control to Plus tires. The Baron MK3 is optimized for 2.80”-3.20” Plus tires, and joins the Sentry and Major to offer the most rim width options for wider tires. The combination of a 35mm rim and Stan’s patented ultra low profile sidewall means the Baron MK3 keeps you in control on even the most technical trails, while still rolling faster than conventional rim designs. Our low profile rim shape is also lighter by design, a great advantage for Plus wheels. The Baron MK3 wheelset includes the Neo hub with CNC machined shell, updated axle and bearing placement for maximum durability, and six pawls for quick engagement. Designed for today’s wider tires, the Sentry MK3’s patented low-profile sidewall and lightweight 6069 alloy construction delivers width without the weight. Our patented BST rim design allows a tire to expand to its full volume without distorting its shape, and the 32mm internal width of the Sentry MK3 is more stable with 2.50”-3.00” tires. The result is less rolling resistance, more traction, and incredible handling.
