Dutch cycling shoe maker Lake had a host of new offerings on display at the Sea Otter Classic, unveiling an XC racer, an enduro slayer, and two commuter models with high hipster quotient — and fat bike potential. Here are all the details.

The budget priced shoe is a good option for XC, cross or just everyday riding.

Lake MX168 ($179)

At home racing cross country, cyclocross or just tooling around on the trail, the MX168 is billed as a budget friendly shoe that offers no frills performance. Highlights include a leather/mesh upper and an adjustable tongue-mounted BOA closure that helps the wearer dial in fit. The sole is glass injected nylon and has what Lake calls Hypergrip rubber with Ice Lock tread inserts. These are vertically injected micro glass fibers designed to enhance grip. Available in red/black or black in regular and wide sizes from 36-48.

Think enduro racing shoe for cold-weather days.

Lake MX180 ($189)

Chasing the growing popularity of enduro racing (and plain old hard trail riding), Lake unveiled what amounts to a rugged trail shoe with a waterproof membrane. Highlights include a side-mounted BOA closure, and Lake’s glass-injected nylon sole, with the same Hypergrip and Ice Lock tread inserts as the MX168. The shoe’s upper is microfiber with a waterproof liner and toe guard. It’s available in black only and comes in regular and wide sizes from 36-48.

Whether commuting, fat biking or racing DH, the DK100 and 150 are viable choices.

DK100 ($139) and DK150 ($159)

Finally, for the commuter crowd is a pair of flat-soled shoes that’ll win you style points with your teenaged kids. The lace-up DK100 is SPD compatible and could do double duty as a downhill racer. The leather upper is attached to a flat rubber sole, making them comfortable when off the bike as well. Available colors include black, orange and white in regular and wide sizes from 36-48.

The DK150 takes the same platform and adds some warmth; think winter commuting or fat biking. The leather upper has a waterproof liner, and these too are SPD Compatible flat rubber sole and lace-up closure. Available colors include black, orange and white in regular and wide sizes from 36-48.
