Ride Report: Whistler Bike Park opening day
Dry trails!
Opening day means new berms. Berms berms berms — mmmmm. It also meant a few lines as everyone in this town or in the Sea to Sky corridor apparently took the day off in anticipation of the weekend’s crowds. But it was sunny; it was good to see the same old faces, and to ride the same trails.

Of course all the trail opening, pass and other relevant information is at the WBP website. 80% of the lower mountain trails are open. The upside of a sub-par snow year is that the ground dries out quicker so trails are in fantastic shape. No new trails are planned for the lower mountain to start off the year. What is new that Extended Play hours kick in earlier starting as of next week. On Monday and Wednesday the mountain will be open till 8pm; commencing on June 14 full Extended Play kicks in.
