Ride Concepts Gears Up for Growth
Mountain bike footwear company Ride Concepts has announced the addition of two industry heavyweights to the staff, Paul Basagoitia handling global athletes and Rick Reed driving brand and marketing initiatives.
“Our recipe from the beginning has been to make the most reliable mountain biking footwear for the aggressive rider while giving a home to athletes who risk their lives progressing the sport,” said Brandon Dodd, founder and CEO. “With Paul and Rick on board, we are expanding into 30 countries backed by a full athlete program.”

As Team Manager, two-time Crankworx Slopestyle champion Paul Basagoitia is assembling a team that will reflect and support the “Ride Every Day” ethos of the brand.
“We’re so pumped on the riders who have chosen us as their new home and I can’t wait to let the secret out,” said Basagoitia as he prepared for his latest big screen appearance in Any One of Us, an upcoming film on spinal cord injuries debuting in March at SXSW Austin. “I’ve seen all types of team managers in my career but I know I can be one of the good guys.”
Basagoitia will also continue to ride and create content for his personal sponsors while helping those with life-altering injuries to ride a bike.
As Ride Concepts Brand Manager, bike and outdoor industry expert Rick Reed will oversee brand strategy and direction as well as media and communications.
“We’re the new brand on the block but already have so many great stories to tell,” said Reed. “From technical ingredients to creative design, being fresh on the scene presents the perfect opportunity to keep our focus on new solutions to a stale category.”
“Paul is a respected icon in the sport and we’re fortunate to share his passion and dedication,“
added Dodd. “Rick brings Tier 1 branding experience and innovative thinking, and he isn’t afraid to leave others in the dust on the trail. The party is just getting started.”
