Revealed: Yeti SB75 and 575
Yeti joins the fray with their announcement of two 27.5 bikes, the SB75 and the 575.
We’ve spent a lot of time on the Yeti SB95 and the Yeti SB66 and have grown to appreciate this elegant suspension design. The SB95 is a capable beast with tons of traction and rock eating ability. The SB66 is a playful machine as it’s easy to throw around into corners and in mid-air. Our favorite is clearly the SB95 as it made us safe and confident in unknown terrain. After the big wheels, getting on the SB66 seemed a bit more sketchy in loose terrain. It didn’t help us out as much on sandy corners and rock-strewn descents.
So here is the long awaited 27.5” entry by Yeti called the SB75. The ‘7’ stands for the 27.5 inch wheels and the ‘5’ is for 5 inches of travel. It is the happy medium wheel size but we are certain it will replace the SB66, as many other brands have phased out their 26er.
Yeti SB75 Features:
- Wheel size: 27.5″
- Rear travel: 130mm
- Internal cable routing on rear triangle
- Direct mount front derailleur
- Tapered inset headtube
- Sealed eccentric suspension system
- Aluminum frame – Carbon is likely to follow next year
- Colors: Turquoise, Black, Yellow
- Switch suspension design found in the SB95 and SB66
- 67 degree head angle
