Remy Metailler joins Rotor Bike Components
Rotor Bike Components is increasing its focus on freeride and downhill mountain biking by adding Remy Metailler to their athlete roster. Metailler will be focusing on select events like Rampage and Urban Downhills, along with his bike park edits, which are the stuff of every downhiller’s dreams.
Born in Nice, France, Metailler fell in love with downhill watching fellow Frenchman Nicolas Vouilloz storm the World Cup scene in the early 2000s, inspiring his signature smooth riding style.
“Watching Remy shred the Whistler Bike Park is like watching water flow down a mountain. It’s just smooth and effortless. Getting his feedback will really help as we continue developing our mountain bike product offerings,” says Rotor’s North American GM Lori Barrett.

“It’s always exiting to work with a brand as dynamic and positive as ROTOR. I knew the products from the road bike world, and had seen the MTB ones from other athletes such as Brett Tippie, and Cedric Gracia. The unique style and quality was definitely the first thing that attracted me, but when you run your own program, the relationship with the people behind the company is also a big thing and that’s why I’m stoked to be working with Rotor for the foreseeable future,” says Metailler.
He will be riding the ROTOR Hawk & Raptor gravity cranks, as well as 2INpower on his road bike for winter training. While the Hawk & Raptor modular system separate for easy switches between bikes, the 2INpower offers Remy insights into his riding to see the effect of gym workouts and training variations as he gets ready for the 2018 season.
Metailler’s other sponsors include Cube Bicycles, Fly Racing, TRP Brakes, DVO suspensions, and some new additions, soon to be announced.
