The big news from day 1 at the 2015 Red Bull Rampage came courtesy of an email. In an effort to avoid a possible rain out, the event schedule has been accelerated. Qualifying will now occur Thursday, with the finals set for Friday.
Considering the extreme weather and delay that happened at last year’s event, it seems the right choice. That said, the crews digging for riders have been operating around the clock before sunrise and until after sunset to get lines properly dialed in.
Currently, qualifying was scheduled to start at 10 a.m. Thursday, with practice to follow immediately until dark. Finals will begin at 10 a.m. Friday. If you cant be there in person, be sure to check out the livestream on Redbull.tv. Here’s a look at day one action through the lens of Eddie Clark.

Cam Zink has healed up from a crash last week, and was out on course and getting his line dialed in. Best guess is that his run will be similar to last year’s with the addition of another extra large step down below the canyon gap seen in the background (click to enlarge).
