Random Awesome: Serendipity Abounds in the Halls of Interbike
Getting a feel for the personality and personalities of the bike industry doesn’t take long at a show like Interbike. We thought we’d give you a glimpse by taking you for a stroll through the aisles…
The Future’s So Bright: Just a days after we compared the DeLorean DMC-12 to the new Merlin mountain bike, we stumbled across the stainless steel supercar in the Ryders Eyewear booth.
Tommy D Sighted: If you keep your eyes peeled at Interbike, you’re sure to see a cycling celeb or two. Here Garmin-Sharp rider Tom Danielson–fresh off his third place overall at the USA Pro Cycling Challenge–mugs for the camera with Giro’s animated Sports Marketing Director Chuck Platt.
From Italy with Amare: Officials from Italy’s Grand Tour brought the Trofeo Senza Fine–the Endless Trophy–with them to promote a new Giro d’Italia-branded wine as well as its namesake gran fondo series. Reading through the list of champions inscribed on the golden scroll is like a walk through road racing history. Pretty cool.
Eww Ouch: It happens. We fall down. Thankfully, injury stories often lead to a beer and conversation–in this case with Electra sales rep Gary “My Life Behind Bars” Thornton.
Spaz in a Can: For many attendees, exhibitors and, yes, journalists, this new product is entirely redundant.
Highlands in the Desert: Kilts–they’re not just for bagpipes anymore.
