Quick Take: Vee Tire Crown all-mountain/enduro tires
Vee Tire has introduced a series of three new enduro/all-mountain tires designed with the help of former BMX and downhill world champion Mike King called the Crown Series. Not exactly a household name as tire manufacturers go, Vee has manufactured a well-respected line of OEM and value tires for years and recently began to take their offerings upmarket first with fatbike tires and now the Crown series.
Available in 27.5- and 29-inch versions, the Crowns and are front- and rear-specific, with a broad, shouldered, widely-spaced knob pattern on the front, and a tighter, narrower rear pattern for better rolling. A third option tire, the Crown Gem, is available for medium to hard-pack conditions.
All three models—the Crown F, Crown R and Crown Gem—are available in Vee’s long-wearing Dual Compound, or more grippy Stickee Compound. Vee says you can run the tires either with tubes, or using sealant for tubeless set-ups.
The tires start at $55 each and should be available in November.
