Downieville, California is a popular mountain biking destination located in the Gold Country area of Sierra County right on the Yuba river. With very scenic views and overlooks, Downieville offers great camping opportunities that include plenty of fishing, hiking and picture taking. But once a year, the town (and surrounding settlements) are dedicated solely to the Downieville Classic.

The Downieville Classic started way back in 1995 and it has evolved into the All Mountain World Championships. The AM World Championships is basically a two day stage race that features a point-to- point cross country race combined with the Downieville Downhill gravity event. The races end right in downtown Downieville where there is also an expo area for companies and brands of all sorts. Besides all the racing, the River Jump contest is also a popular event not to be missed.
