Outerbike returns to Whistler June 2-5

June 2 marks the return of Outerbike to the mountain bike Mecca that is Whistler, British Columbia. For four days the consumer demo event allows riders to test some of the best new bikes on the market on some of the world’s best trails. This year’s exhibitor line-up includes Ibis, Yeti, Rocky Mountain, Norco, Banshee, MRP, and more. Available bikes will include everything from hard charging XC racers, to trail, all-mountain and downhill rigs.

A full four-day demo pass is $220 and includes unlimited bike demos, lunches, guided rides, parties, beer, and six chairlift rides at the world famous Whistler Mountain Bike Park. (Additional lift tickets are 40 percent off) You can also opt for the two-day locals pass ($120), which offers the same amenities as the full demo save for bike park access.

This is the second year for the Outerbike Whistler and 10th overall for an event that’s also held two times a year in Moab, Utah, where its organizers are based.

The Whistler Bike Park is slated to open for the season on May 20, and word is conditions are shaping up to be all-time. An early spring melt means that the trails in the Fitzsimmons zone have been able to clear naturally, allowing the trail crew to focus on tuning and perfecting instead of digging through snow. Meanwhile, the Valley trails are already in full of loam and should be in perfect shape come Outerbike time.
