Nox Composites Interbike 2016
Nox Composites was founded in 2012 by two engineers and former bike racers in Knoxville, TN. From humble roots, they have grown the company using a grassroots approach, relying primarily on word of mouth, solid product reputation and exceptional customer support. Nox has been innovators since the beginning, bringing game changing ideas to market such as wider rims, asymmetric offset rims, and hookless beads that are now nearly standard in the industry. Nox takes a “function over form” approach to product design, a unique position in an industry which is too often driven by fads and loud colors. Proven at the highest levels of racing, their products have a near cult following and fill a needed niche of high-quality carbon rims at a more obtainable price point. Nox is currently offering eight mountain rims ranging from 23mm to 36mm internal widths, two cyclocross rims, and is developing a full line of aerodynamic road rims for release in spring 2017. Nox also runs a wheel shop out of their Knoxville office, hand building quick-turn custom wheels using top shelf components.

Nox Skyline 29 & 27.5
The Skyline rim is a no-holds barred rim aimed at giving racers and “weight conscious” riders the ultimate weapon – a light yet stiff set of wheels with mind blowing acceleration. With an internal width of 23mm, the Skyline matches well with tires in the 2.0-2.25 sizes.

The Teocalli is Nox’s most popular rim and for good reason; the 26mm internal width is a perfect match for the tires most common the trail. The Teocalli is proven to be incredibly durable and exceptionally stiff while being as light as most race-day only alloy rims. The Teocalli was designed to interface with tires ranging from 2.1-2.35”. It’s at home on a wide range of bikes from hardtails up to 5” travel bikes.

The Farlow was designed to provide the advantages of extra-wide mountain rims: lower rolling resistance, increased traction and improved sidewall support, all while keeping weight in check at a respectable 420-430g. The Farlow has proven its durability with success on the World Cup Enduro circuit. As one of the first hookless rims on the market, the Farlow was perfected on the double-black Devil’s Racetrack in Nox’s hometown of Knoxville, TN. With an internal rim width of 29mm, the Farlow works great with tires ranging from 2.3-2.5. The Farlow is at home on 4”-6” travel bikes and is an extremely flexible rim, capable of daily XC/trail rides with weekend trips to the bike park.

Nox Kitsuma 29 & 27.5
The Kitsuma is a super-wide rim built for riders pushing the limit on the way down. If you can dish it, this rim can take it. Combined with a good set of tires, there’s not much you can’t ride at stupid-speeds with these rims. Developed and tested on the world-class downhill of Windrock Park in Oliver Springs, TN, the Kitsuma all about maximizing traction and wheel stiffness. At 36mm wide (internal) it works best with tires 2.4-3.0 inches wide.

Nox Citico 29/700c
The Citico is the ultimate adventure rim for gravel grinders and CX racers looking for the best strength to weight ratio on the market. The Citico is fast on the road, wide for better traction and lower Crr, strong enough for spontaneous single track exploration and right at home on a CX race course. A 23mm hook to hook width works great with 28mm-44mm tires. This rim has a bead hook to ensure compatibility with a wide range of tubeless and non-tubeless ready tires up to 80psi.

Nox Zolder Tubular 700c
The Zolder tubular is the industry’s first asymmetric disc-specific tubular composite rim. Designed for CX or Disc-road racing, the asymmetric offset improves the bracing angles of the wheel to improve net lateral stiffness and overall wheel durability. Nox developed a 23mm wide C-shaped gluing surface that contours perfectly to the most common 30mm-38mm tires. This shape saves significant effort during the installation process and provides a secure bond.

Nox Falkor 36D
The Falkor 36D is an aerodynamic rim designed for disc brake equipped road bikes. Designed using Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software, the Falkor 36D is optimized for 10deg wind yaw angles and is the first asymmetric aerodynamic composite rim on the market. The Falkor 36D is relatively wide (27.5mm) to lower rolling resistance, reduce pinch flats and provide a smooth, low-drag transition at the tire to rim interface when used with the 25-28mm tires most common on the road today.
