Bell Super 360 inches closer to release
The release of Bell’s Super helmet with an integrated camera capable of shooting 360 degree 4K footage is still a few months out, but the brand did have a prototype on display. They also had tablets on hand that allowed you to play with video perspective as files were streamed. If you’ve only ever experienced 360-degree footage on a computer monitor, you’re missing out. Being able to spin the display with a tap of your fingers adds a new dimension to POV footage.

MIPS coming to TLD A1 and D3
MIPS is a technology designed to help reduce rotational forces in an impact. It works by placing a liner near your head that can shift independently of the helmet in a crash, which is claimed to help counter the rotation of your brain. It’s a bit complicated to explain in a sentence or two, so check out our story here for more info.
A number of number leading brands are incorporating this technology and it appears that TLD will soon be selling MIPS versions of their popular half shell and full face models.

New colors for Alpinestars Paragon
The Paragon knee pads from Alpinestars are a staff favorite due to the fit, protection, and price. These CE certified kneepads retail for less than $50, and this new yellow version is the go-to color for racers like Enduro World Series star Anneke Berteen.

SixSixOne teases affordable EVO AM Patrol
The new EVO AM Patrol helmet is designed to be a more affordable version of their premium EVO AM model. While it still retains the excellent BOA retention system, it ditches the magnetic clasp in favor of a standard clip, and will feature more subdued graphics to help bring down cost.
Other major differences include the use of standard EPS foam instead of name brand Contego, and a revised interior liner. Retail for the Patrol will drop from $150 to $109 ($139 with MIPS. SixSixOne is aiming to start shipping in September.

Urge Releases Down-O-Matic DH Helmet
Hot on the heels of the new Archi Enduro R.R., Urge is launching a new downhill full face brain protector. This helmet shares the same outer shell and EPS as the Archi, but has a larger chin guard. As always, Urge has put a premium on ventilation, performance, and their signature look. The helmets will start shipping in late May and will retail for $299.

New lightweight Sunglasses from Oakley
The new EV Zero sunglasses are the lightest Oakley has ever made. They’ll be used by dozens of athletes at the Olympics in Brazil later this year and will be popular with any endurance athlete looking to reduce weight. Retail starts at $160, although for an additional $20, you can get the Prizm lens technology that’s designed to enhance certain colors, thus improving vision for specific environments.
