New Focus Raven Max 29, Spine C and Sam C mountain bikes
Focus Bicycles is a German brand that was founded in 1992 by cyclocross World Champion Mike Kluge. They are probably most recognized for their elite level road bikes like those found under the AG2R La Mondiale Pro Tour riders or the Focus Mares CX of cross superstar Jeremy Powers. Their mountain bikes can also be found on the World Cup circuit as well.
New to the US market, Focus is bringing in 3 new models: the Raven Max 29, the Spine C and the SAM C.
Focus Raven Max Team 29
The Raven Max is a carbon 29er hardtail that is meant for speed. It is available in three models (Team 29, Pro 29, SL 29) and will be available in the US for the first time. Feature highlights include internal cable routing, R.A.T. (rapid axle technology) thru-axles, PF 30 press fit BB and size specific stiffness. Speaking of sizes, the Raven Max comes in 4 sizes – small thru extra large.
The lightweight carbon frame features a seat tube that is isolated from the seat tubes in a style similar to a Trek Domane road bike. This is to help increase comfort while maintaining proper stiffness. The junction where the seat tube meets the bottom bracket shell is also drawn very thin to help give the bike some flex.
Focus Spine
The Focus Spine C is a carbon framed trail bike with 120mm of rear travel and rolls on 27.5″ wheels. For the US market, there will be 4 models available including the Spine C Factory, the Spine C 0.0, the Spine C SL and the Spine C PRo. Feature highlights include internal cable routing, PF 30 press fit BB and size specific stiffness. The Spine C comes in 4 sizes – small thru extra large.
