New ENVE carbon 29er fork

ENVE - carbon mountain bike fork

ENVE is well known for their carbon wheels, bars, stems and road and cross forks. They have just announced a brand new rigid carbon mountain bike fork for 29ers with several very unique features and customizable options.

Brake cable routing is much cleaner and simpler due to the clasp which which secures the lines to the fork without complicated internal routing or excess hardware.

If you ride in muddy conditions, there is a molded carbon fender that can be interchanged with the individual brake line claps.

But perhaps the most exciting feature is the unique axle chip system that allows you to tune the handling characteristics by simply flipping the chip 180 degrees. Position one yields 44mm of rake and 470mm axle-to-crown measurement. Position two yields 52mm of rake and 472mm axle-to-crown measurement. ENVE claims that these features plus the suspension corrected geometry make it best suited for the aftermarket.

ENVE’s carbon constructs the fork by using continuous fibers that run from the top of the steerer all the the way down to the bottom of the dropouts. The one-piece design uses a removable bladder internally during fork creation, to remove extra weight and provide a more consistent fiber placement.

The fork also features a 15mm thru-axle, 300mm tapered steerer (1.5″ to 1 1/8″), compatibility with 160 or 180mm rotor and will accomodate tires up to 88mm wide (about 3.4″). Weight is 686 grams with the clasps or 711 grams with the fender.

ENVE Marketing Manager Jake Pantone explained, “Often the best solution to a problem is the simplest one. Despite the evolution of suspension technology over the past ten years, rigid mountain forks still provide the optimal platform for many of the off-road riding and racing formats that riders participate in. For this reason, a mountain fork has been one of the most highly requested products from ENVE over the past 7 years.”

The new ENVE mountain fork is shipping to dealers now and has an MSRP of $625.00.
