Magura paired up USA Tech Rep Jude Monica and the Miserable Champion Shawm Palmer to introduce their retro colored MT7 Race brake and revolutionary new electronic dropper post.
Lightweight introduces a 60mm version of their popular 80mm Fernweg aero wheelset, plus new limited edition products.
Former World Champion Shawn Palmer was on hand at the Magura Booth to give out hand fives and discuss the new Magura MT7 Race Line. The brake harkens back to Napalms glory days with it’s retro color scheme, but it’s use of a carbon master cylinder makes it one of the lightest and most advanced four pot brakes on the market.
In addition to new brakes, Magura was teasing it’s new electronic actuated dropper post which is set to be released early next year. The 150mm post has enough battery capacity for four hundred activations per charge, and a full charge cycle takes roughly three hours. A 3D accelerometer is integrated to the post and will shut the post off to conserve battery life if it determines the bike is sitting idle.
When you reach the limit of the battery, the post enters a safe mode, which disables the lever and forces you to actuate the post via a button located just under the saddle. This forces you to be contentious about each time you activate the post, since the safe mode only has sufficient charge for 20 more adjustments. Charging is done via a Micro USB and communication between the wireless remote and post is done via ANT+ technology.
With it’s proven expertise in hydraulics and development of a successful electronic suspension system, Magura background is uniquely well suited for this project, and the reception has been overwhelming. We can’t wait to get one of these new electronic dropper posts in for evaluation next year.
Lightweight
Due to the popularity of the 80mm Fernweg wheelset, Lightweight is now launching a new 60mm version, that will be available as either a tubular or clincher. Weight for the tubular is 625g and the clincher comes in at 710g. Lightweight claims the weight is great for aero bikes or triathletes in cross winds, especially when riding in the extensions.
The brand was also showcasing a Schwartz edition of their Full Disc TT/Tri wheel, that has been ridden by multiple (unsponsored!) teams in Pro Tours. This black on black limited edition has large but subdued graphics, ceramic bearings, and weighs 790g.
They’ve also teamed up with Urgestalt to create a Lightweight Edition road frame that is intended to compliment the characteristics of their wheelsets.

The MT7 stands for maximum braking performance and stability in extreme conditions. In the tough, bike-testing worlds of Enduro and Downhill, the additional braking power of the 4 brake pistons is a positive safety factor. The aluminium, two-finger brake lever - with toolless adjustment - and the adjustable bite point provide the necessary ergonomics for perfect brake control, even in difficult terrain and on long downhill runs.
Carbotecture SL brake lever housing and aluminium handlebar clamp
Ergonomic, 2-fingerbrake lever
Toolless adjustment of lever reach and bite point
Forged 4-piston brake calliper with banjo
MagnetiXchange brake pistons for easy brake pad replacement
Weight only 375 g
Compatible with all MAGURA Storm and Storm SL discs

Stiffer. Lighter. Easier. Feel the difference! The outstanding features of our new products are low maintenance and reliability.
DLO²
Dynamic Lock Out: The lockout system for TS8 and TS6 suspension forks with a Blow-off function and optimized damping. Operated manually (TS6) or with the handlebar remote (TS8 R).
Open Mode: Maximum sensitivity.
Close Mode: No bouncing during out-of-the-saddle pedalling.
The new Vyron eLECT adds significant extra functionality and user-friendliness with its Magura-exclusive wireless remote operation. With a quick button press on the handlebar remote you can drop the saddle height smoothly by up to 150 mm – then another button press returns it to its optimal position for pedalling.
The Vyron uses the Magura eLECT Remote with ANT+ wireless technology. The same remote is already used on Magura suspension forks and shocks – so it’s technology which has been proven time and again over the toughest courses of the XC racing circuit.
You can mount the eLECT Remote on the left or right of the handlebars as you prefer, and it places the operating buttons right by the grip for instinctive on-trail operation and maximum ergonomic efficiency. If you also have a Magura suspension fork and/or shock unit with eLECT functions on your bike, you can choose what you prefer: one eLECT remote for the VYRON and another for forks and/or shock(s) – or you can use all three buttons on a single remote to control every aspect: full bike control at the touch of a button.
Seat post clamping is hydraulic and rock-solid, using the legendary Magura Royal Blood fluid for a practically maintenance-free system – and if it is ever necessary, bleeding the Vyron’s hydraulic system is remarkably easy.
The seat post’s rechargeable battery needs topping up only after around 400 actuations, typically around two months’ use. A motion sensor in the seat post puts it into sleep mode to save battery power when the bike is not being moved, and Magura’s engineers have ensured that even if the battery in the remote or the main rechargeable pack in the seat post are almost empty, you still have up to 20 emergency actuations available via the buttons on the seat post itself to get you home. Back at civilisation, you can recharge from empty in around 3 hours via the micro USB port.
Our aim was to make this exclusive spoked wheel even lighter and more rigid, and, at the same time, to consistently improve its braking performance and aerodynamics. A newly devised layered structure allowed us to further optimise the application of fibres and resin. And we developed a completely new hub for the front wheel into the bargain. This allowed us to reduce the weight of the Meilenstein Obermayer by a total of 25 grams – while at the same time doubling its rigidity value. For you, this means: even less inert mass, even more cutting-edge technology and thus agility in a completely new dimension. In a nutshell: the lightest and most rigid carbon wheel on the planet.
The stiffest wheel in the Lightweight range
A perfect all-round wheelset, equally at home on the road, in the mountains and in road racing
Urgestalt, the first frame from Lightweight. Our aim was to create a perfectly matched chassis. With a frame design optimised for a consummate flow of power and a unique cycling experience. What we wanted was a symbiosis of frame and wheels that had never been achieved before – neither from the technological nor from the aesthetic standpoint. In short: a frame with more passion for more passion. With outstanding rigidity values, so that your energy can flow without loss through our new chassis system – and be transferred directly to the road. You can feel and experience this uninterrupted flow of force. With optimum agility, precision, safety and of course, an incomparably pleasurable ride.
