Lower cost Time Speciale 8 pedal released

Because of its reputation, when Time releases a pedal, folks pay attention.

The Speciale 12, released last year was all good but there was the issue of the $350 price tag. It’s akin to the XTR release of great new technology that is not quite attainable for most. So the release of the lower-cost, more reachable version is welcome news indeed. The new Speciale 8 is lighter, more compact and only $125. They’ve got our attention.

The Speciale 8 is made with an aluminum body which is slightly more compact than the Speciale 12, two adjustable pins to optimize grip and a micrometric tension system to meet the demands of the most specific riders. Its easy engagement and closure system (ATAC) is well known for years and allows easy entry and exit even in the most difficult conditions. The Speciale 8 is fully assembled in France in our factory in Never.

Watch ambassadors Remy Metailler and Nicolas Quéré test the SP8 in demanding conditions.
