Lenzerheide World Cup DH course preview
For round No. 5, the World Cup DH circus heads to Lenzerheide, Switzerland. This is a newer track that was introduced back in 2015. It’s a relatively short course that received only minor updates for this year.
It’s here that Danny Hart kicked off his spectacular series of wins last season and he’d love to return to that form. He’ll have to beat Greg Minnaar, who’s in the series lead and in the form of his life. There’s also Troy Brosnan, who set a blistering time in qualifying, and is fresh off a win last weekend in Andorra. And of course, the other half dozen men who are always within striking distance of the podium.
On the women’s side, Tracy Hannah remains in the overall lead. But Rachel Atherton returned last weekend after recovering from a fresh shoulder injury. However, she appears to be struggling with pain management. With four winners in four races, it’s anyone’s game this weekend.
To catch a look at the track, here’s Claudio Caluori. He suffered a few mechanical on his way down the hill, but still manages to entertain and inform.
