KS used trade show season to introduce a new under-bar remote option for controlling their cable-actuated adjustable seatposts. Designed for bikes that use 1x drivetrains, the $35 KS Southpaw bolts near the left handlebar grip and features a shift lever-like paddle to control their dropper posts.

Though we’ve long been fans of KS’s standard grip lock-style remote, we like the five-way adjustability the Southpaw offers. The long lever design also actuates with more leverage and should help small-handed riders with reach.

All of KS’s handlebar remotes are interchangeable and use the same lever pull ratio.

Though you can find many tutorials in Mtbr’s forums and elsewhere that show how to convert an old front shifter to a dropper remote, the Southpaw appears clean, lightweight and inexpensive.
