Interbike 2015: Xpedo ZED pedal

Xpedo ZED pedal
With a 110x110mm platform, the new Xpedo ZED is the company’s largest pedal ever. Despite it’s size, they’ve managed to retain a very slim profile. Compared to the popular Spry pedal, the ZED is only 1mm thicker at 12mm.
At only 12mm thick, the Xpedo ZED is slim enough to help reduce pedal strikes (click to enlarge).
The body is made of 6061 aluminum and rotates on a chromoly spindle via a combination of two sealed bearings and a single bushing.
In case the stock pins aren’t grippy enough, Xpedo also sells several aftermarket hop up kits (click to enlarge).
Weight is claimed at ~388 g and retail is set at $99. The should arrive in stores early next year in black (pictured), gray, and red.

Xpedo GFX clipless pedal
Also new at the show was the GFX clipless pedal, which is targeted toward the downhill market.
Unlike a traditional pedal which has a 53mm Q Factor, the GFX utilizes a wider 56mm Q Factor to help reduce shoe rub against the crank.
Another unique feature is the new latitude entry system, which allows the clip in mechanism to rotate upwards inside the aluminum body of the pedal to facilitate clipping in. Riders who are familiar with (or huge fans of) the Shimano DX pedal will feel right at home with this design.
The pedals will ship in a variety of anodized colors, including two limited editions: Oil Slick and Black Gold. Retail will be $129, although the price of the Oil Slick version is still TBD.
