Interbike 2015: POC launches Tectal trail and Coron DH helmets
Following the success of its original trail/enduro specific helmet, the Trabec, POC has added to its MTB brain protection portfolio with the new Tectal trail and Coron DH helmets. These also have some new MTB specific shades. Read on for all the details.
POC Tectal Trail Helmet
The Tectal offers more coverage than conventional mountain bike helmets and incorporates the same aramid bridge system found in the Trabec. POC Coron DH Helmet
Meanwhile, the full face Coron is targeted specifically at aggressive gravity-focused riding, and was developed in collaboration with POC team athlete Martin Söderström. The Coron incorporates M-FORGE shell material, a fiber material that POC claims outperforms previously-used shell materials. The Coron has also been constructed with an internal channel ventilation system which enhances ventilation. Other features include:
- Multi-impact EPP liner.
- Breakaway visor
- Ear chambers designed for less effect on balance and hearing
- Chin bar constructed for optimized protection and breathing
- Removable and washable liner
- Available in Martin Söderström and Intense Factory Racing Team models
- Price: $450
POC Crave Sunglasses
Accompanying these helmets are the new POC Crave sunglasses, which are designed to fit seamlessly with POC helmets. These shades have a unique snap in hinge which allows easy lenses changes and greater durability in case of falls.
- Grilamid frame
- Hydrophilic rubber
- PC lens from Carl Zeiss Vision
- Various lens tints
- Open frame construction provides ventilation and evacuate steam
- Lens is ripel treated
