For 2016, Intense is re-introducing the beloved Uzzi as a 190mm travel bike designed for super enduro (their words, not ours) and park riding. It’s built with a 180mm fork in mind, but can pull double duty as a downhill rig with a dual crown fork.

Two different shock positions on the upper linkage allow for geometry tuning.

The aluminum chassis is hydroformed and welded at the Intense factory in Temecula, California. The linkage has two different mounting positions, which can slacken the 65-degree headtube angle by one degree and lengthen the wheelbase by 3mm.

The lower linkage is now better protected from impacts.

The frame continues to utilize the VPP suspension platform, but the lower link is now placed forward and above the bottom bracket. This helps reduce the length of the chainstays and marginally increases tire clearance.

Goodbye G2 dropouts. The new Uzzi is built specifically around 27.5” wheels and the new rear Boost 148 standard.

The frame utilizes the new Boost 148 rear spacing standard and will be 1x specific. Ditching 2x compatibility allowed Intense to utilize more bracing, which they claim creates a stiffer rear end than some competitor’s carbon frames.

All of Intense's aluminum frames and linkages are built in the U.S.

Intense will be offering two build kits, as well as a frame only option. The foundation model pictured here will retail for $4,000.
