Only 15 of these M29 FRO models will be available to the public.

Southern California’s Intense Cycles and their M-Series downhill bikes have a long legacy of on the World Cup downhill circuit, starting in the mid 1990s with Shaun Palmer. The latest iteration of the M-Series is the M29, a carbon fiber rig that Australian Jack Moir piloted to a second place finish at Fort William last year. In fact, since getting on the M29, Moir has had the two best finishes of his career, a testament to the performance of this new M-Series design. And as the number indicates, the M29 sports 29er wheels, which seems to be the latest recipe for going fast on the World Cup circuit.

The M29 is a new design sporting 29er wheels.

At the Sea Otter Classic, Intense had the M29 FRO (For Racing Only) on display. Only 15 of these particular FRO models, equipped with the same spec as the Intense Factory Racing M29, will be available globally for purchase. The bike will be assembled by factory tech manager Chappy Fiene, with final review by Intense founder Jeff Steber. And in order to get your hands on one, you have to already be the owner of an Intense.

Full carbon construction accentuate the eye-catching lines of the M29.

Later this year Intense will launch non-FRO M29 models in larger quantities. But for those die-hard Intense fans, the M29 FRO is rare opportunity to own the exact bike raced by the Intense Factory Team. Equipped with a 200mm travel RockShox Boxxer World Cup fork and 250x70mm RockShox Super Deluxe Coil with Ti race spring, the M29 FRO also features ENVE M930 wheels on Chris King hubs, ENVE carbon handlebars and seatpost, SRAM Code brakes, and a blended SRAM XO1/XX1 seven-speed drivetrain.

Intense Sniper

The Intense Sniper Trail and XC are new 120mm and 100mm trail bikes.

Intense was also showing off their new Sniper Trail (120mm travel) and XC (100mm travel) 29er bikes designed to balance downhill performance and uphill efficiency. With both wild and mild color palates for each Intense model, there should be a motif that appeals to most buyer tastes.

Both mild and wild color palates are available on all Intense models.

Since introducing their consumer-direct model, Intense has been able to get more aggressive with retail pricing. According to Steber, new Intense models are running as much as $1000 less than non-consumer direct competitors.
