How to prepare your mountain bike for winter

With Winter approaching fast, it’s a good time to prep your bike for abuse. The next time you run through your regular maintenance routine, consider blocking out an extra hour or two (plus some beer) to clean and regrease everything.

On most high-end builds, your headset, bottom bracket, and some suspension pivots will use sealed bearings. However, adding a fresh layer of grease is a good first line of defense against corrosion. Anyone who’s ridden in the UK or the PNW knows just how quickly headsets can seize.
