G-Form shows off bib short liner with hip protection
Light and functional bib short from G-form.
G-Form revolutionized protection by creating knee and elbow pads that were different from what existed at the time. Instead of hard, heavy pads that restricted movement, G-Form introduced products that were light and extremely flexible. And although they did not protect as well as the hard downhill pads, G-Form found a new market among cyclists that get injured on occasion but will not wear big, cumbersome pads. For cross country and trail riding, folks wanted protection but wanted gear that did not interfere with the ride, specially during climbing.

Their latest addition is a bib short that offers hip protection and light storage for bottles and essentials. Hip protection is not something most riders are concerned with but devastating injuries can happen quickly. All it takes is a slip and slap on a hard surface and the hip, or femur can be broken. Two years ago, after years of no hip injuries, three of our crew fell on their side on mild trail rides and all three broke their femoral necks. This is the part of the femur that attaches to the hip and when hit a the right angle, it can take the entire force of the fall. The hip pad by G-Form is designed to absorb some of the shock and distribute some of the energy as well.
Hip protection is designed to protect but not call attention to itself.
With the availability of the bib, G-Form was able to include the storage pockets for bottles, tools and food. There is a growing market for in-clothing storage that allows a rider to carry enough supplies for short/medium ride without having to use a hydration bag. Two smaller pockets are provided too on the legs of the big short.
