What is it?

Many enduro races require a full-face helmet. And there are many options for lightweight full-face helmets or trail style helmets with removable chinbars. But many lack in either style, fit, or safety. The new Fox Proframe helmet is entering the market as a specific tool for a specific job. This is a well-ventilated, downhill certified helmet for the enduro racer or trail rider seeking top-level safety without a removable chinbar.

Art’s Cyclery Take

The Fox Proframe helmet stands out from the crowd with its non-removable chinguard, fixed visor, and easy to use Fidlock magnetic buckle. The Proframe also offers similar aesthetic characteristics to Fox’s ever-popular Rampage carbon helmet with the visor design resembling the recently released Metah trail helmet. The design is clean and simple, creating a perfect blend of form and function.

The Proframe offers the secure fit of a traditional full-face helmet, without the weight and lack of ventilation. The inside of the helmet is lined with easy to replace pad sets available in multiple sizes to provide customized fit. The fixed visor ensures maximum airflow through the four large big bore vents located under the visor. The addition of Fox‘s Fidlock buckle makes taking the helmet on and off a breeze, perfect for hot days at the bike park.

With key safety features like DH certification at a weight of only 735 grams, this helmet is in a category of its own. The Proframe fits similar to their Carbon Rampage, and the non-removable chinbar offers piece of mind as well as additional safety benefits.

Bottom Line

This is the helmet for the rider wondering, are these removable chinbar helmets really as safe as my standard full-face? The ASTM certified Proframe fits just like a traditional full-face but with great ventilation and upwards of 500 grams of weight savings. Indeed, if your terrain is DH certified, your helmet should be too.
