Ferda Girls: The new mountain bike anthem

Ferda Girls

Sit down (hol’ up, sit down, lil’, sit down, lil’ bro)

This week, Mtbr is at Whistler Bike Park covering Crankworx. This celebration of bikes draws crowds from around the world. One of the events most highly anticipated contests is Dirt Diaries, in which teams of filmmakers battle to create the best mountain bike edit.

The winner this year was IFHT, who partnered with Macayla Gato for this incredible parody of Kendrick Lamar’s music video Humble. The boys in the crowd (that would me most of you) may appreciate the message of women’s empowerment, but this video is “Ferda Girls.”

Any woman who’s ridden in a bike park will instantly empathize with this lighthearted take on the bro-brah culture that abounds in mountain biking. Give it a watch and catch the full lyrics here.

To understand the true brilliance of this edit, it’s worth watching the original Kendrick Lamar video above. Just be warned it’s loaded with adult language.
