Eurobike 2015: Schwalbe Fat Albert returns, plus new gravel, CX and fat tires

Fat Albert Revised
The big news from Schwalbe is that the legend is back. Gerrit Gaastra, Dutch mountain bike hero and developer, contributed to the making of this new Fat Albert. Utilizing new knob patterns front and rear, the tire offers superior traction for trail riding. Available in 27 x 2.35” and 29 x 2.35”. Weights starting at 740g.

Plus Size Nobby Nic and Rocket Ron
These popular multi-purpose tires that are used for everything from cross country races to enduro events now come in plus sizes, too. The Nobby Nic is available in an assortment of sizes and widths, the plus sizes are 27.5 x 2.8” and 27.5 x 3.0”. Weights starting at 860g. The speedier Rocket Ron combines superior grip, light weight and low rolling resistance, and is also available in numerous sizes and widths, including 27.5 x 2.8” and 27.5 x 3.0”. Weights starting at 680g.

Tough Tom
In the Active Line, one tire reminded us of a knob pattern that had been used earlier, and indeed the Tough Tom has the same tread as the Nobby Nic. Designed to be used up front in combination with the Rapid Rob, which has the same pattern as the Racing Ralph. Available in 26 x 2.25”, 27.5 x 2.25” and 29 x 2.25”. Weights starting at 705g.
Little Joe
Inspired by the earlier BMX Mow Joe knob pattern, the Little Joe is a kid’s mountain bike tire that combines traction-enhancing knobbies with low weight, and reflective side walls and higher puncture protection for added safety. At first glance, the tire looks narrow, but it is especially adapted to the lower weight of young riders. Available in 20 x 1.4” and 20 x 2.0”. Weights starting at 290g.

Big Street
Still in the BMX range, the Big Apple has gone BMX with the Big Street. Optimized for street and hard pack, the tire has dual compound and Snake Skin side walls. Available in 20 x 2.15”. Weights starting at 485g.
Super Moto-X
For fast urban riding without the fear of puncture, the Super Moto-X makes no compromises. Only available in 27.5”, the tire has a 3mm thick Greenguard anti-puncture layer and comes in 2.4” and 2.8” widths. Weights starting at 910g.

G-One
Schwalbe goes gravel, offering a good looking gravel tire with a low rolling resistance. Available in 27.5 x 1.5”, 29 x 1.35” and 29 x 1.50”. Weights starting at 400g.
X-One
Look no further if you would like to combine Schwalbe’s tubeless technology with a cross tire. Available in 29 x 1.30”. Weights starting at 370g.
Big-One
Inspired by the notorious Dutch beach races (the longest is a staggering 130km), Schwalbe’s developed a fast, large volume beach tire with a minimalist profile and low weight. Combined with tubeless technology, Schwalbe claims this new tire has the lowest rolling resistance it’s ever produced. Available in 27.5 x 2.35” and 29 x 2.35”. Weights starting at 440g.
