Eurobike: 2015 ENVE Mountain Fork
The ENVE Mountain Fork comes with a removable clip-on fender (top left), and features a reinforced carbon brake mount (bottom left).
With its stout Mad Max swagger, ENVE’s new $625, adjustable 29er-only rigid mountain fork attracted much attention at Eurobike last week. The suspension-corrected fork is designed to maintain frame geometries and has an axle chip system that can be toggled to create a 44mm rake offset with a 470mm axle-to-crown length, or a 55mm rake offset with a 472mm axle-to-crown measurement. The fork also features a clever brake hose clip that can be swapped out for a short molded carbon fender. It comes with adaptors for running either a 160- or 180mm rotor as well.
The fork’s chip system (top left) can be flipped for either a 44- or 55mm offset. The molded carbon fender (bottom left and top right) clips on to the fork and includes a slick, integrated brake hose guide (bottom right).
The sub-700-gram fork features continuous fiber construction, with strands of carbon running uninterrupted from the top of the steerer tube to the bottom of the dropouts, which results in a strong yet light structure, according to ENVE Marketing Manager Jake Pantone. The Mountain Fork comes with a tapered 1.125- to 1.5-inch taper and has 3.46-inches of tire clearance.
