Eurobike 2015: CamelBak Palos lumbar pack frees the back

CamelBak’s new lumbar line of hydration packs lowers the center of gravity to increase rider’s freedom of movement. Water weight is now positioned on hips to reduce weight transfer to the shoulder harness.

Skyline 10 LR

The Skyline lumbar pack has a 7 liter capacity, plus a 3 liter reservoir, making it suitable for rides or 3 hours or more. The pack weighs just over a pound, and has a 1.5” belt with cargo pockets and a yoke harness with lightweight 3D mesh and slider sternum strap. The pack is made of 70D/210D diamond ripstop nylon, combined with 210HT nylon. Included is a bike tool organizer roll.

Solstice 10 LR

The Solstice lumbar pack is designed for women, offering the same features as the Skyline, but weighing a few grams less. The other prominent difference are S-shape shoulder straps, with soft Velvetex inside lining to prevent chafing on the side of the breasts.

Palos 4 LR

The Palos 4 LR lumbar pack has a 2.5 liter capacity and 1.5 liter reservoir, making it suitable for rides up to 90 minutes. Weighing is around 1.5 pounds, and the the back panel is made of air mesh material. It also has a 1.5” belt with cargo pockets. The pack is made of 70D/210D block dobby nylon, combined with 210HT nylon.
