This race marked the last time legendary racer Anne-Caroline Chausson would line up for an international level event. The Frenchwoman announced her retirement after the first day of racing.

Finale Ligure has played host to the final round of every EWS season thus far. This beautiful Italian village sits between mountains and the Mediterranean coast near the border with France. While in previous seasons this race has played a pivotal role in deciding the overall series titles, dominant performances by Cecile Ravanel and Richie Rude earlier this season stole some of the drama.

On the women’s side, Ravanle had wrapped up the overall at the previous race in Valberg, but the battle for third place was still hotly contested. More importantly, this race marked the last time the legendary Anne-Caroline Chausson would line up for an international event. After recovering from her bought with cancer earlier this year, she retired in third place after the first day of racing citing fatigue.

Over on the men’s side, Rude simply needed to finish to claim his crown. He played things safe, which left an opening for Marin Maes to claim his first EWS win. For a full recap of all the racing action from the entire weekend, hit play.
