Cane Creek Slam Set lowers stack height

On the left is the Cane Creek Slam Set ZS model, on the right is the integrated IS model with Hellbearer bearings visible.

To help keep stack height in check, Cane Creek has introduced the new Slam Set ZS head set. The top of this head set is only 2mm higher than the top of the head tube (ZS means Zero Stack). There’s also an integrated version called IS.

This lateral view shows the low stack height of the Slam Set ZS model. After mounting the bearings, the only visible part will be the top edge that you see protruding on the top side of the head set.

Thanks to the Hellbearer bearings you get six extra bearings, omitting the internal casing that normally fits the ball bearings. This, combined with an extra heavy sealing, which is needed because the low stack height IS head set does not contain the seal elements that a normal head set offers, improves long term durability. Availability is set for November. Price is $160 for the ZS model and $130 for the IS.
