Boothstorming Sea Otter: Intense Cycles in the middle of all the action
Intense Cycles has a prime spot at the Sea otter Classic, adjacent to the awards stage and between the two halves of the expo area. It makes the perfect platform for displaying an ever-improving line of new product.
The gold-on-black Intense Spider 29 frameset (top left) has a graphic scheme reminiscent of the Lotus Formula 1 race livery, while the 951 Evo’s fluorescent orange DH bike (right) screams “race me!” In between, a new Tracer 275 is prepped for a demo ride. We were lucky to get a shot of the bike as it’s been on constant loan to Sea Otter attendees eager to check out the latest and greatest from Intense.
A mechanic cuts down the bars of Brian Lopes’ Tracer 275 to width (top left) as Intense founder Jeff Steber and Lopes himself (bottom right) talk track days at Laguna Seca. Intense’s Jennifer Gabrielli takes pictures of Lopes and a super fan (bottom left, top right).
Intense has a race-bred heritage that’s celebrated in everything from their head badge to t-shirts to the bikes themselves—in this case, the Taser hardtail (bottom right).
Intense’s set up is a mix of race pits, hang out areas, demo shop and an upper deck for taking in the whole scene.
