Best new value priced products of 2015

We love covering the latest and greatest, but the truth is, most of us can’t afford to drop 10 large on a mountain bike. Below is our list of 2015 products that offered the best bang for the buck.

The 27.5” rim weighs 425g for the 24mm version, 475g for the 27mm, and 490g for the 30mm.

Easton ARC Rims

Do people still build custom wheelsets? I do, so it’s great that Easton offers an affordable new enduro worthy rim. The ARCs are available for both 27.5” and 29” wheels and come in three different internal widths: 24mm, 27m, and 30mm. Best of all MSRP is $99 per hoop. More info at eastoncycling.com.

While most springs are sold in 50 lb increments, The FOX SLS springs are available in 25 lb increments.

FOX SLS Spring

For downhillers, there are two easy ways to shred weight: tires and a Ti shock spring. Running weight weenie tires on a big bike is silly, and titanium springs can be expensive. That’s why we’re so excited about FOX’s SLS springs. These steel springs cost nearly half of what titanium retails for, and can weigh anywhere from 20g to 100g less depending on size. For more info on the SLS Springs and FOX’s entire 2015 line up, check out our Interbike coverage here.

Orbea Digit Manual Dropper Post

While this new manual dropper from Orbea is not a replacement for a proper dropper, it does allow you to quickly move the post between a preset maximum and minimum height without any additional fiddling. The post is currently only available on Orbea frames, but we’re told they will soon sell separately for around the same cost as a regular seatpost. More info at www.orbea.com.
