The Reset replaces the Comp in the 661 lineup. The Comp helmet will remain in the line as a rental-only product for bike park customers.
661 Reset Full Face Helmet
The new Reset helmet replaces 661’s long standing Comp full face. Unlike its predecessor, which used an open mold, the Reset was designed in house. In addition to a new profile, the helmet features ABS construction instead of fiberglass. This increases stiffness, without ramping up weight. Retail is $100. Bolle Trackdown Helmet
Bolle launched its first cycling helmet two years ago. It was an ambitious product that sought to cover all the bases (road, commuter, dirt) by way of numerous accessories. While the basic premise was solid, the end product needed refinement. Bolle’s new enduro helmet, the Trackdown, should resolve those complaints. The new lid is slated to debut early next year and features a unique vent closure system for inclement weather, a new BOA based closure system, and MIPS integration. G-Form Pro Trail Glove
While G-Form is best known for their light weight protective pads, they’ve slowly expanded into base layers and bibs. With a full line of under garments now available, they’re turned their focus to gloves. Their new Pro Trail features strategically placed RPT pads to protect the back of the hand. These inserts are layered onto a breathable fabric which is UPF 50+ rated. Other nice touches include a touch screen compatible finger and thumb panel. Retail for the glove is $60.
G-Form was showcasing a new colorway of their Elite Pad at Interbike.
G-Form was also showcasing a new colorway for their Elite Pad. It’s a goes-with-anything-black sleeve, with some subtle topographic lines printed on the RPT pad in blue. It shares the same $99 retail as the existing model. For more info, visit g-form.com.
The Monitor SL improves on the regular Monitor glove by adding a hint of padding.
Lizard Skins Monitor SL
The Monitor has been in the Lizard Skins family for years. It’s a lightweight full fingered glove that’s become highly popular with the XC crowd. Based on consumer demand, the brand is debuting a new minimally padded version.
The Monitor has three touch screen-compatible fingertips.
Dubbed the Monitor SL, this glove features the same overall layout as the Monitor, but with subtle gel padding in the thumb and palm areas. Retail is $30, which is $5 more than the regular Monitor. For more info, visit lizardskins.com.
The Mission is Kali’s lightest trail pad.
Kali Mission and Strike
California based Kali protectives has offered some of our favorite DH rated knee and elbow guards for years, but they lacked a lightweight (and breathable) solution for trail riding. The new Mission and Strike fill that void.
The Mission resembles a knee (or elbow) warmer with a slim integrated pad. It has a breathable mesh, perforated foam pad for protection, and elastic cuffs top and bottom to lock them in place. The kneepad is available in four sizes (S-XL) and will retail for $45. The elbow pad will launch in November.
The Strike shares the same overall look as the Mission, but offers more protection due to high tech materials and additional padding.
Looking for a little more protection? Kali’s new Strike shares the same thin trail oriented aesthetic, but replaces the foam insert with an advanced nano-carbon elastic compound called Xelion. Unlike similar materials, this material works well regardless of outside temperature. To bolster protection, Kali has also added strategically placed EVA inserts in critical areas. The kneepad is available in four sizes (S-XL) and will retail for $85. The elbow pad will also launch in November. For more info, visit bike.kaliprotectives.com.

SENA Prototype helmet
If you’re a motorcycle rider, the name SENA needs no introduction. Their Bluetooth modules, which add walkie talkie, music playback, and calling functionality to any helmet, are among the best in class. They’ve recently turned their attention to the cycling market and have released a number of smart equipped helmets. At Interbike, they were showcasing some future prototypes. This science fiction derived piece is said to have generous venting, a removable chin bar, and a dizzying array of smart features (including video and audio). For more info, visit www.sena.com.
The name NOW stands for Nonstop On Wheels.
NOW XFlow helmet
Like SENA, NOW is a motorcycle brand seeking to cross over into the cycling world. They offer a full range of helmets, including road and commuter products, but it’s the XFlow that caught our attention. Aside from the unusual aesthetic, the standout feature is the weight. This safety-cone-orange lid graces the scales at just over 300g. Not bad for a trail lid. For more info, visit nowhelmet.com.
