2017 YT Jeffsy, Capra, and Tues bikes launched

2017 YT Jeffsy

The YT Jeffsy was one of the most talked about trail bikes in 2016.

Last year was a big year for YT Industries. The German direct-to-consumer brand made a big splash in the U.S., their bikes turning heads on the trail and internet. Indeed, this First Ride Review of the YT Jeffsy CF Comp 1 was one of the most read posts on Mtbr in 2016. So what do they do for an encore? How about more sizes, more component options, and some very compelling price points.

For 2017, the Young Talents Jeffsy, Capra, and Tues will all be available in a CF Pro Race version, including a new flagship “liquid metal” paint job. Another highlight is the addition of XL frame sizes for both the Capra CF and Tues CF. This should be welcome news for riders who prefer bikes with longer reach. In general, the new range offers everything from entry-level race rigs to premium builds, meaning there is something for just about every budget and riding style.

YT’s aggressive 29er trail bike will for this year also be available in a CF Pro Race version ($5599), sporting a new paint job and a wide variety of components, including Kashima coated FOX Factory suspension, SRAM Guide Ultimate brakes, Renthal carbon handlebars, a carbon crank and wide range cassette from e*thirteen. For those looking for a wider selection of gears, the Jeffsy CF Two ($3999) and AL Two ($3999) have SRAM 2x drivetrains. The AL One ($2999) is an entry-level price point option.

2017 YT Capra

Enduro enthusiast will want to look to the YT Capra.

The carbon version of this enduro bike is available with three builds for 2017: CF Pro Race ($5599), CF Pro ($4599), and CF ($3999). The CF Pro Race is the flagship offering of the enduro range, sporting Kashima coated FOX Factory suspension components. All new for 2017 are the e*thirteen carbon wheels on the CF Pro Race, as well as the Race Face and e*thirteen dropper posts that appear for the first time on the CF Pro and CF models.

2017 YT Capra

If you’re looking for a little more color pop, YT has you covered.

Those who prefer aluminum can opt for the AL Comp ($3299) or the AL ($2799). Both aluminum models come equipped with RockShox suspension components; the acclaimed Lyrik fork pairs up with the Monarch+ RC3 and Monarch+ R, respectively. All Capra models run SRAM 1×11 drivetrains this year.

2017 YT Tues

The race bike of Aaron Gwin is back for another year.

2017 YT Tues Highlights

Aaron Gwin successfully proved last year that the Tues is not only a World Cup worthy downhill bike, but that it has the pedigree to claim the top spot of the podium. That led YT to build a CF Pro Race version ($5999). FOX’s 40 Float Factory fork and Float X2 Factory shock deliver World Cup-level suspension performance. Freshly introduced to the downhill game by Gwin, the TRP Quadiem G-Spec brakes are on stopper duty for the first time this year. Carbon wheels and cranks from e*thirteen and the carbon handlebar from Renthal help keep the weight down.

2017 YT Tues

There is a full array of direct-to-consumer options to suit a variety of budgets.

The Tues CF Pro ($4499) has FOX suspension and the standard CF ($3999) comes with a RockShox BoXXer Team and Vivid RC2 shock. Finally, the Tues AL ($2899) is an affordable way to get into of downhill, offering a solid component mix at a lower price.
