The outgoing Pivot Mach 6 carbon was a highly successful bike for Pivot. Cable routing opened the door for some improvements and the high price of carbon called for an aluminum version as well. The call is answered here.

Many improvements have been made to compete with other bikes at the highest level, but it was made more accessible too with an aluminum version of the frame. The aluminum version is $1999, which is a full $1k less than the $2999 carbon frame. Weight is 7.4 lbs for the aluminum compared to 6.5 lbs for the carbon version.

Differences include an all new double wishbone rear triangle and new linkage design for huge gains in overall stiffness. The upper linkage alone is 40% wider, 150% stiffer and utilizes larger bearings at the frame attachment point, while the redesigned clevis is now lighter, stronger and provides increased clamping force on the shock body. The new rear triangle also incorporates Boost spacing for an overall increase in frame stiffness, power transfer and even more tire clearance, allowing for a wide range of tire choices. Additionally, the Mach 6 Carbon now features the innovative Pivot Cable Port System for the first fully Di2 integrated long travel bike.

The Mach 6 Aluminum adds even more options to the new Pivot enduro/trail line up. Pivot has met the same standards for stiffness, power transfer and perfectly dialed suspension performance as their carbon bikes.

The Mach 6 Aluminum features the same new linkage design as the Mach 6 Carbon, Boost spacing and acclaimed dw-link suspension.
