YT Industries present their 2021 Blaze edition of the IZZO, JEFFSY 29 and CAPRA 29
With their new Blaze editions, YT present updated versions of the IZZO, JEFFSY 29 and CAPRA 29 models, equipped with SRAM and RockShox components. Blaze is supposed to stand for high performance and all three versions come equipped with RockShox Ultimate suspension and SRAM’s GX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain. Read on to find out what the new bikes cost and what other features they offer.
If you want one of YT’s new IZZO, JEFFSY 29 or CAPRA 29 Blaze editions, you’ll have to be quick: the IZZO Blaze edition is limited to 250 models for the European and Israeli market, as well as another 250 intended for the US, Canadian and Australian market. The JEFFSY 29 and CAPRA 29 Blaze models are limited to 150 each for the above markets. The models are built up around RockShox’s Ultimate suspension and a SRAM GX 12-speed groupset with increased range. The YT IZZO Blaze has also received a few additional updates to make it more capable on the descents. All models feature a carbon frame, cost € 3,999 and are available online now.
The YT IZZO Blaze 2021
The 2021 IZZO Blaze gets 140 mm travel up front, delivered by the RockShox Pike Ultimate RC2. Together with the low- and high-speed compression and rebound adjustment and 10 mm more travel compared to the standard IZZO model, it promises to provide improved downhill performance. You also get a climb switch on the RockShox Deluxe Ultimate shock. With the MAXXIS Forekaster tires exchanged for more durable and aggressive MAXXIS Minion DHRII EXO models and the very adjustable SRAM G2 RSC brakes, the IZZO Blaze is intended for riders who want more travel on the descents without having to compromise on the climbing capabilities of the standard IZZO model. The increased gear range of the SRAM GX groupset with a 10–52 t cassette should help in this regard.
The YT JEFFSY 29 Blaze 2021
The YT JEFFSY 29 is now in its third season, and for the 2021 Blaze edition, YT are relying on the RockShox Lyrik Ultimate RC2 fork in combination with the RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate shock. While the travel remains the same, you do get the increased range of a 10–52 t cassette on the SRAM GX 12-speed groupset and SRAM’s G2 RSC brakes.
The YT CAPRA Blaze 2021
The 2021 CAPRA Blaze comes with a RockShox ZEB Ultimate RC2 fork and RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate shock, offering the same amount of travel as the regular model. You get the wide range GX 10–52 t cassette and SRAM’s CODE RSC brakes for a little more stopping power. For the tires, YT rely on MAXXIS ASSEGAI and Minion DHRII models.
Conclusion:
With the new Blaze editions, YT Industries are introducing yet more variants of their proven bikes. However, only the IZZO has received an actual update, now offering increased travel of 10 mm and somewhat more durable tires, thus expanding the horizon of its intended use. We’ve already received the new IZZO Blaze for our upcoming mega-group test featuring over 20 trail bikes! For the JEFFSY 29 and CAPRA 29 models, it’s just another build variant – we’re curious to see if and when YT will present more meaningful updates!
