Race Preview: Big Ride Round #3 – Castjon de Sos
On the 10th of June 2014, Castjon de Sos in the Huesca mountains is set for a date with destiny, The first time that the Canondale Big Ride Open of Spain Enduro has come to town. It is a n exciting new destination on the map of Big Ride in Iberia which already ranges from the Mediterranean South with Ojen in Malaga to the romantic Atlantic hills and forests of Tui in Galicia. Our next stop adds a whole new dimension another spectacular landscape and a new set of challenges to Enduro riders.
Race Preview: The Empire Cycles Enduro Series 2014
Following the first ever Empire Cycles Enduro event over the weekend of April 26-27th, organisers Red Kite Events have announced a further improved format and plans for the rest of the series. Taking place in and around Britain’s smallest town, Llanwrtyd Wells, the first event proved a huge success with the riders and spectators alike. Now though says Red Kite, it’s time to step it up a notch!
Race Report: Enduro Meeting #2 – Cordoba, Argentina
A beautiful day full of enduro was experienced on May 24 in the mountains of Córdoba (Midwest Region), near Los Quebrachitos natural reserve in Unquillo. This was the second edition of the Enduro Series Meeting (the previous one was attended by the current world champion Jerome Clementz).
Race Report: SloEnduro Series Round #3 Javornik, Slovenia
Bike Park Javornik in Crni Vrh (SLO) was the latest stop of SloEnduro series past Sunday. All the best enduro racers from Slovenia and some guest from Croatia, Italy, Austria and Hungary had to deal with 5 stages, a little more than 1500 altitude meters of descending and about 1000 altitude meters of uphills, to get some points for SloEnduro 2014 rankings.
Race Report: California Enduro Series, #1 Battle Born
The 2014 California Enduro Series kicked off the season with the Battle Born Enduro on Peavine, Mountain, just outside Reno, Nevada. The course featured some classic high desert riding with exposed, scrubby terrain and loose drifty dirt.
A racer testing traction in the turns on Peavine Mountain during practice saturday. Many of the turns had faux-berms, that is a pile of sand that looked deceptively like a berm. One racer commented on the number of golf balls that had been lost in the turns on course.
Marshall Eames was beaming Saturday morning before the race, with a kit that bright who wouldn’t be? Unfortunately, he suffered a mechanical on course and had to bail out early.
275 riders lined up at the start line, hot to trot, rearin to go.
Casey Coffman, local Reno pro ripper and all-around stand up guy, put in a solid day of racing Saturday taking third, even after flatting and bending a rotor on the final stage. Casey was happy to share his local knowledge during practice, showing out of town racers around, organizing shuttles, and walking lines with the masses.

Stage 5’s rock gardens provided some texture for the day. Doug Thayer laid down the fastest time through the rough stuff, finding his way to the top spot on the podium for the pro win. Cheers Doug.
Teal Stetson-Lee finished the day with a commanding lead in the womens pro field. She chose to ride her XC race bike on the pedally course, a decision that clearly paid off.

Beer. Ceol Irish pub brought out their beer ambulance, administering fluids to thirsty racers.
An impressive number of Juniors—33 young men and 1 young woman—took on the Battle Born Enduro.
