Race Report: Irish Enduro Champs, Djouce Woods Wicklow
Not even the heaviest rainfall in 5 years could dampen the spirits of the 350 field of excited riders who turned up to race in the Irish National Champs yesterday. To the enduro mad locals, this was more important than the Football World Cup, more prestigious than the commonwealth games, and it was all going to play out in the emerald woodland of Djouce, just west of Wicklow. The challenging...
Race Report: Grass Roots Racing Queen Elizabeth Country Park
All keen Mountain Bikers, all volunteers and track builders
Queen Elizabeth Country Park is a quiet little part of Hertfordshire, one of those posh scenic English southern village type places. It’s absolutely ages since Iv ventured right down south to do a race, the last time being the Southern Area Mountain Bike Series DH races back in 98, which I subsequently got banned from, but that’s another story!! Photo Report: Enduro World Series Round 5, Winter Park
With the extreme high elevations, dry and loose tracks, and more pedaling than racers are accustomed to, Winter Park, Colorado was yet another different installment on the international enduro racing scene. Testing racers on many different levels, the tracks in Colorado were steep and rugged, tight and pedally, full of trees, and containing huge bike park jumps, at times on the same run. Some loved it, some did not. The weather held for most of the weekend of racing, being hot and sunny. The new bike rollout train continued, with new rides being seen under many racers. In the end, we saw familiar faces at the very top, but new faces on the podium. Read through to find out more.
