During the presentation of the all-new Scott Genius LT we spotted SRAMs new X.01 drivetrain. It will be a more affordable version of the SRAM XX1 that just recently won the Design & Innovation Award powered by Enduro Mountainbike Magazine.

By using less expensive materials (less carbon) and producing the pieces in “easier” manufacturing processes the SRAM X.01 will weigh a little bit more but make this innovative technology affordable for more riders.

X.01 cassette

XX1 cassette

Evidently the most expensive part of the group set, the cassette, is processed differently and made of a different material!

The trigger is made of aluminium (instead of carbon on the XX1).

No carbon on the crank set, unfortunately we don’t have any figures about the added weight. Alternating tooth profile.
