Sea Otter 2015 | e*thirteen With New Drivetrain Components

In some more exciting Sea Otter news, components-specialist e*thirteen announced a new carbon crank and the next evolution of the LG1+ chainguide. However it was their 9-42 (!!) 10-speed cassette for xd-drivers, that raised the biggest crowd.

The new LG1+ chainguide comes in a nice stealth-black finish and weighs only 136g in its lightest version. Like its predecessors, it guides the chain both on above and below the chainring – loosing your change under this circumstances should be real challenge.

Thanks to the new spacers, it should be pretty easy to align the chain.

The LG1+ chainguide works with chainrings from 30t to 38t. Changing the chain is easy to, thanks to a clever opening-mechanism at the upper guide – you don’t even need a tool.

The new opening mechanism makes changing the chain a child’s play!

The backplate is currently made from aluminum, e*thirteen is working on a carbon version already though, which will reduce the weight further.

Also at the booth: e*thirteens new enduro-specific TSRr carbon cranks. With a special hollow construction, it should be among one of the lightest cranks on the market. We’ll keep you updated!

Die Kassette mit der Bandbreite von 9–42 Zähnen zog viele Blicke auf sich.
A highlight for sure: The new cassette with 9-42t range.

For the first time, e*thirteen presents their own 10-speed cassette, offering a huge 9-42 range, called the EXP cassette.

Trotz der großen Bandbreite handelt es sich um einer 10-fach-Kassette.
With e*thirteens new sprocket, 10-speed riders can run a greater range of gears than ever

The cassette uses a special mounting system: Only the biggest three aluminium sprockets are connected to the xd-driver hub, the smaller 7 (or 8 for the 11-speed cassette) are clicked into them.
