Save the Date | Scotland’s Cream O’ the Croft Festival
Cream O’ the Croft, Scotland’s first dedicated mountain biking festival is being held from the 26th– 28th June 2015 at the award-winning Comrie Croft in Perthshire, celebrating the completion of their 16km network of purpose built trails. A collaboration between Comrie Croft, Muckmedden Events and Hansen’s Kitchen, it promises to be a feast of family-friendly fun on fat tyres.
It’s a camping festival (plus other accommodation options) in beautiful, natural surroundings. It also features a fine selection of up-and-coming music acts and the very best of local food and craft beer, all served up in a hay barn. Central to the weekend is a ‘decathlon style’ MTB championship consisting of timed downhill stages, an XC lap, dual-slalom racing and bike park events. Top competitors across all disciplines will be crowned ‘The Cream o’ the Croft’. Aaron Gray, organiser at Muckmedden Events commented; “When Comrie Croft told us they wanted a competitive element at the festival to showcase their new trail network, we jumped at the chance! It’s not often you have exclusive use of a trail centre so we had to come up with something special.
After lots of daydreaming and studying of trail maps, the Cream o’ the Croft MTB Championships was born.” Aaron added; “It will be the ultimate MTB showdown. Every rider will have the chance to shine on their favourite type of trail whether it’s the hill climb or the black descent, so a good all-round rider will do well. Most important of all, it’s going to be amazing fun!” In addition to top-drawer mountain biking there will be a number of non-cycling activities at the festival (including a giant waterslide, a petting zoo and a craft fair) and organisers recommend festival-goers bring friends and family to the vibrant Strathearn venue and make a weekend of it.
