Race Report | Specialized/La Pinilla Bike Park Opening

It’s that time again. Bike parks are opening and the sun has made a truly miraculous comeback, drying out trails and making for some awesome riding. To make things even sweeter, the eagerly anticipated Specialized – La Pinilla Bike Park, located near the town of Riaza in the Sierra de Ayllon, announced in style that it’s open again for the summer!

The 23rd and 24th May held host to The Bike Park Weekend 2015, with more than 500 Enduro and Downhillers taking part in four special stages, including one ‘fun’ night ride which didn’t account for the overall timings.

For the Men’s category, overall weekend winner and top flyer in the mass downhill avalanche was Spaniard Jose Diez Arriola from LTM Racing Team, with Eva Castro from GT Bicycles clinching the podium for the Women.

La Pinilla will be open until 14th October, when its sunny trails will inevitably return to its glorious snow covered slopes, hosting people with long, rectangular wood objects attached to their feet.
