Race Report | Enduro Cup Lombardia 2015 – #5 Livigno
The season began in March in Petosino where nearly 300 riders took to the stages in near winter conditions, after a season of drama with hard battles and painful injuries the final round would be held in Livigno.
In master women and juniors the first 3 stages would witness absolute domination by former champion Bruna Benedusi (team Alba Orobia Bike) and Simone Invernizzi.
After the race in Santa Caterina which proved tough on both bikes and riders, the title was sealed by Pesenti meaning the race in Livigno would be a much less competitive affair, or not… Livigno seen the return of Marco Milivinti with others such as the Lupato brothers (Alex and Denny) joining a small group of riders from Germany and South-Tirol along side the regulars.
Times were super competitive on stage 1 of Saturday with many riders fighting unable to gain a big time advantage, Tobi Muller came through with a time of 6.08 which everyone struggled to beat until Marco Milivinti smashed in an incredible 5.55!
A similar fashion followed on the 3 stages on Sunday with Milivinti the fastest man throughout, followed by Muller, Livorti and Philip Walder. Unfortunately Alex Lupato had a mechanical and was forced out on stage 3. After the last stage, Milivinti is 1st in the general standings, with Tobi Muller 2nd and Livorti 3rd.
Jessica Bormolini (team Sporting Club Livigno) was the 1st woman, while team mates Ornaghi Tiziana and Bruna Benedusi (team Alba Orobia Bike) picked up 2nd and 3rd respectively.
As for the titles, Marcello Pesenti did not collect any points but was already crowned champion so it had no affect on the overall. In the master women, 3rd place was enough for Bruna Benedusi to be crowned champion for the second time. Simone Invernizzi takes 5 wins out of 5 to once again win the juniors.
