POC Scottish Enduro Series | We’ve found our Man!

There has been some exciting news from the POC Scottish Enduro Series. “Within minutes of putting it out there that the search was on for a filmer to cover the whole POC Scottish Enduro Series this year, there was 4 emails in the inbox. By the end of the next few days we had 12 applicants to choose from. This was an amazing and unexpected response, so, first things first, can we say a huge thank you to everyone who got in touch, sent in videos and took the time to do so. It was really appreciated and we enjoyed the variety of videos very much. We’d also like to say a huge thanks you to Singletrack Bikes in Midlothian for making this video series possible.

Throughout the videos there was a huge range of filming styles and video subject choice to work through – the team have watched some brilliant climbing videos, gym advertorials, there was some motor racing, and of course some cracking mountain biking videos.

In the end though, with the help of some expert eyes in the shape of Joe Barnes, we chose someone whose videos were exciting and that show his filming and editing skills. His use of music to highlight the action and his ability to mix that with some great cinematography really caught our eye. His work to date has mostly included short videos filmed with some of his biking buddies which some of you may have seen on Pinkbike or Facebook.

So folks, without further ado, the Scottish Enduro Series would like to introduce Glen Thomson to the team. Here’s a few words from Glen himself:

‘I first got into filming a couple of years ago when I decided to film my friends mountain biking in the local woods just for fun. There I discovered my passion for capturing footage and ever since I’ve gradually built up a name for myself by meeting new riders to film with and producing videos as a hobby. It’s such a great feeling seeing how many people enjoy watching my videos, so I’ve kept up what I love doing, and through this I’ve developed my skills and confidence. Through filming I have also made lots new friends, which gives me assurance that I will get to know many other people which I would be happy to work with in the future.

When I was asked to film this series, I was delighted to be given the opportunity as I knew I would learn more about this exciting sport as well as have the chance to film it in action! Although this will be a new challenge for me, I’m looking forward to producing the footage I capture into good quality videos that everyone can watch. I’m sure this is going to be a great season for everybody involved and I look forward to seeing you all at the races soon!’

Glen’s videos will be released on the Tuesday after the race, along with the official Enduro-MTB Mag race report. So, if you see someone with a camera, don’t forget to get RAD!!
