EUROBIKE 2015 | Sweet Protection in the Pursuit of Perfection

Sweet Protection, a company based in the small village of Trysil in the wilderness of the Norwegian mountains have been developing helmets and technical clothing for 15 years. They say they are on a relentless pursuit of perfection and have this year made further changes to the Bushwhacker helmet and produced new designs of technical clothing.

New designs for both women and men - bold and current, we like!

The Bushwhacker helmet will come in both a standard version and a version with MIPS Brain Protection System (where the shell and inner liner are separted by a low friction layer), for 2016 there are a range of new colour options and also a carbon MIPS alternative. A standard lid will retail at 169 €and a MIPS lid at 199 €.

New colourways, pleasing to the eye if not the most exciting update to the Bushwhacker.

Sweet protection are offering the Bearsuit Pro Knee pads with an interesting zip on / zip off feature meaning no longer removing shoes before knee pads! This is undergoing further development in the pursuit of perfection with the addition of an extra feature to keep the zip closure secure. Sweet Protection are also developing an additional lightweight model to the knee pad line, they are currently debating what level of protection – how much is too little and inefficient? It will be interesting to see what they come up with.

Also debuting are Sweet Protections new line of technical clothing with new Gasolina shorts and Colchuck longsleeve jersey for women and Hunter enduro shorts alongside the Chikamin jersey for men. Both look original in their design and with multiple panels they seem well shaped, excellent pieces of bike wear we reckon! Price point wise, female shorts come in at 99 € and the jersey at 79,90 €.

The women’s Gasolina shorts will be delivered in both the blue you see here and a neutral black. Aside from the long sleeved Colchuck jersey the shorts can be teamed up with a super soft and stretchy burgundy technical tee. Also new for 2016 will be minimalist, single layer gloves. We like being able to grip the bars without the interruption of a gel layer or padding and these gloves, with no seams in the contact panel seem to fit the bill!

This multi panelled jersey in the women's range looks to be a good shout for a long day in the saddle.
