Tour de France gallery: The GC takes shape on the Grand Colombier
Stage 15 of the Tour de France promised changes in the GC battle and that’s exactly what it delivered. On the slopes of the Grand Colombier defending champion Egan Bernal (Ineos Grenadiers) cracked, his chance of back-to-back victories evaporating before his eyes. Ahead of him, the two Slovenians Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) and Tadej Pogacar (UAE-Team Emirates) again proved they are the strongest riders in the race, going 1-2 on the stage (Pogacar, Roglic) and maintaining the top two spots overall (Roglic, Pogacar).
Barring a minor miracle or mishap of some kind, those two should go 1-2 at this year’s Tour. The third spot on the podium, though, is very much up for grabs.
Here’s how the final stage before the second rest day unfolded, as captured by Ashley and Jered Gruber, Kristof Ramon, and Cor Vos.
